CANCELLATIONS
Cancellation of reservation/ticket is subject to the terms of condition to the shipping company.

If the respective company doesn’t charge with cancellation fees, a refund will be given.


PRICING POLICY
The indicated product prices are final (ie including VAT) and are updated automatically in the reservation system.

PAYMENT METHODS

PASSENGER’S TICKET CONDITIONS:

  1. This ticket is issued in the passenger’s name, is personal and non-transferable. It is valid only for the class and the trip for which it was issued.
  2. The fare does not include catering.
  3. Passengers should be at the embarkation area of the ship one (1) hour before departure. If the passenger is not in time for sailing, he/she is not entitled to a refund of the fare.
  4. Children up to 4 years old travel free of charge and are not entitled to bed, while children over 4 years old and up to 10 years old pay half of the fare and are entitled to bed.
  5. Passengers with a full ticket are allowed to carry free of charge luggage up to 40 kilos or 1 cubic meter.
  6. In case of loss of the ticket, is not refundable or replaceable.
  7. The shipping company is not responsible for any damage or loss of the passenger’s luggage that is under his/her personal care during the trip.
  8. Jewelry, money and valuables may be delivered to the ship’s accounting office for safekeeping.
  9. The shipping company is not responsible for any delay in sailing, deviation and not keeping normal route, due to bad weather or orders from the Ministry of Mercantile Marine or the Harbour Authorities or due to force major.
  10. It is forbidden for the passengers to carry explosives, inflammable, incendiary and dangerous materials in general.
  11. Passengers are responsible for the observance of the Port Authorities’, Sanitary and Custom’s regulations.
  12. Passengers should comply with the captain’s and the crew’s orders regarding the maintenance of order and the safety of the ship.
  13. Passengers should address any complaint during the trip to the ship’s captain of first mate and after their arrival, to the shipping company of the Harbour’s Authorities.
  14. If for any reason the travel is called of due to the ship’s responsibility, the fare is refunded without any further obligation of the shipping company towards the passenger.
  15. The shipping company has the right, after approval of the Ministry of Mercantile Marine, to replace the vessel for which the ticket was issued with another vessel.
  16. Any dispute shall be brought before the Court of Piraeus. Greece.

VEHICLE TRANSPORT RECEIPT CONDITIONS:

  1. Drivers are obliged to load and unload their vehicle.
  2. Vehicles should be at the embarkation area one (1) hour before departure and in any case on the time specified by the Port Regulation in force.
  3. The driver is not entitled to refund fare if he/she is not in time for sailing, while if he states before sailing his intention not to ship his vehicle, he is entitled to a refund of half fare.
  4. In case of loss of vehicle transport receipt, the fare is not refunded.
  5. The vehicles’ passengers have to exit the vehicle before embarkation.
  6. Passengers should carry with them objects that they need during the travel. After sailing the entrance to the ship’s garage is forbidden.
  7. The transportation of explosives, incendiary and dangerous materials in general is forbidden.
  8. The priority order is determined by the Port Regulations of each Harbour Authorities, where the vehicles are shipped.

TERMS & CONDITIONS FOR PASSENGERS (ADRIATIC SEA)

Passengers, their luggage and accompanied vehicles are carried subject to the International Treaties and Conventions, the Greek Private Maritime Code and the general conditions of carriage of the Superfast Ferries, Blue Star Ferries or Anek Lines Vessels (hereinafter the “Vessel/Vessels”) as these conditions (collectively referred to as “General Terms and Conditions”) were determined by the Managers of the Vessels acting on behalf of the Ship Owners of the Vessels (hereinafter the Managers and the Ship Owners together referred to as “the Company”). These General Terms and Conditions include exclusions and limitations of carriers’ liability for death, illness or for damage to or loss of vehicles and luggage or for delay or deviation. Copies of the General Terms and Conditions of carriage of the Company are available upon request.

Timetables - Fares

Fares and timetables listed in this catalogue are based on conditions existing at the time of print. If any conditions should change after the time of print, the Company reserves the right to make changes to the timetable, the fares and the routes or to refrain from contractual obligations without prior notice. The Company however is not liable for any damages resulting thereof. The afore-mentioned conditions include any kind of unforeseeable circumstances like an increase in fuel prices or currency fluctuation. In the unlikely event that contractual obligations may not be fulfilled, the customer is entitled to a full refund of payments made. The Company cannot be held liable for any delays caused by third parties, port authorities, or extreme and unusual weather conditions. Schedules are subject to change without prior notice.

Reservation Requirements

In compliance with international SOLAS regulations and EU Law (Council Directive 98/41/EC of 18 June 1998), passengers are required to supply the following information during reservation: Name and Surname, Gender, Nationality, Date of birth, Contact phone number, Type and registration number of vehicle (if applicable). Passengers from non-European Union (and non-Schengen) countries are required to supply the following additional information: Passport number and expiry date, Visa expiry date (if required).

Ticket Validity

Tickets are valid for one year from the date of issuance except for tickets that have restricted validity. A ticket is not transferable unless otherwise provided by law. The person allowed to travel is the person named on the ticket (passage contract). The Company reserves the right to request passengers to present valid identification documents before travelling and will not be held liable if a passenger -other than the person entitled to travel under a ticket- who has presented identification documents to the Company -corresponding to the passenger named on the ticket has travelled and/or has been reimbursed.

Exchange Rate

The fares of tickets purchased in other countries or onboard may differ due to fluctuations in the exchange rate.

Cancellations - Refunds

Cancellations can be made at the Travel Agency, Port Agency, Premium Sales Agent or at the offices of the Company where reservation and payment were made. Depending on the time of cancellation the following amounts are refunded (special offers excluded):

  • A 100% refund, up to 14 days prior to departure.
  • A 50% refund, from 13 days to 24 hours prior to departure.
  • The Company has no obligation to refund in case of cancellations made less than 24 hours prior to ship’s departure or if the passenger does not report at checkin. Passengers have the right to make their ticket OPEN with validity for one year from the date of issuance. If this ticket is cancelled, the date of rebooking is considered as the date of cancellation and the refund is calculated in relation to the original travel date.
  • In the event of a partial cancellation of a round trip of which one crossing has been completed, the passenger will be charged a one way fare and will be refunded as above for the balance of the round trip fare.
  • In the event of a whole cancellation of a round trip, the passenger will be refunded as above (based on the time of cancellation). A request for refund must be made in writing and the actual refund may take place in a three month period after the last date of travel. Cancellations and refunds can only be settled through the Travel Agency, Premium Sales Agent or offices of the Company, where tickets were issued. Port Agencies may cancel a ticket once check-in has been finalized but cannot refund money. The Company is entitled to retain the total value of ticket if the passenger interrupts his voyage at an intermediate port, unless the interruption is due to illness, accident or force majeure.

Open Return

Open tickets are valid for one year from the date of issue. Passengers with an open return ticket must reserve their return journey well in advance through the Travel Agency, Premium Sales Agent, Port Agent or the offices of the Company, where reservation and payment were made. Open Return fares are always calculated on the basis of the low season fare. In the event that a passenger travels in shoulder or high season or during a period in which a new tariff is in force, then the difference between the current and the pre-paid fare has to be paid by the passenger. The Company cannot always secure the reservation of the passengers on their desired travel dates or accommodation type. Alternative travel dates or accommodation types may be offered.

Lost Tickets

In case of a lost ticket: a) The passenger must immediately notify the issuing Travel Agent, Premium Sales Agent, or the Company. b) The passenger bears the cost of the reissued ticket. The lost ticket is refunded only by the issuing ticket office, three months after the departure date, following verification that the relevant ticket has not been used.

Discounts

Valid proof may be required by the Company for discounted fares e.g.: a) infants, b) children, c) senior citizens, d) students, e) youths f) members of automobile associations & camping clubs. Discounts should be claimed upon reservation. After the voyage, no fare may be refunded.

Unaccompanied Children

The Company does not accept reservations for children under 15-years of age who are not accompanied by adults. Reservations for young people between 15 to 18-years of age can be accepted upon specific written permission by the parent or legal guardian for the unaccompanied voyage.

Disabled passengers

On board our Vessels there are specially designed cabins with easy access and operation to accommodate disabled passengers. Due to a limited number of such cabins it is necessary to reserve in advance.

Pets

Onboard our vessels there are a number of kennels available, which are necessary to be booked in advance. Furthermore, there are a limited number of cabins available for pet carriage. It is also necessary to reserve these in advance. Unaccompanied pets are not acceptable. Owners or guardians are required to have their pet’s valid health documents with them while travelling (EU citizens are additionally required to have their EU Pet Passport) and follow all entry regulations. For all cats, dogs and ferrets a valid rabies immunization document is mandatory. For more information, please always check with your veterinary and your local travel agent. Pets are not allowed indoors (bars, restaurants and other public areas) or in vehicles (unless you have booked camping on board), while access to the vehicle deck is forbidden during crossings. While walking on the open decks, pets are required to wear a muzzle and be on a leash, accompanied by the pet owner or guardian. The pet owner or guardian is held fully responsible for the care, safety and hygiene of the pet and for adhering to all laws and regulations related to the above. Furthermore, pet owners are solely responsible for any possible harm or damage caused by their animals to any third party. Excluded from the above mentioned restrictions are animals that guard and assist people with disabilities that may accompany their owners. Owners must hold the appropriate certificates for these animals. Note: Carriage of live animals (other than pets) is governed by the cargo terms and conditions of the Company.

Camping on Board

Camping on board is permissible from April 1st to October 31st. Those travelling with a caravan or a camper should check in at least 3 hours prior to the scheduled departure time. Delayed arrival of a camper may hinder boarding on the open deck. Due to the limited space for camping on board, it is advisable to book well in advance. For safety reasons, cooking and the use of gas or fire by camping-on-board passengers is strictly forbidden. Please pay special attention to the camping on-board instructions available on board. Camping on Board is permitted for clients traveling with vehicles officially registered camping vehicles, campers and caravans. Regular cars and/or minibus vehicles are not permitted for camping on board. Any vehicles that are not registered as camping vehicles will not be permitted for camping on board and clients will be denied access to the open deck.

Meals

Meals are not included in the price of the ticket.

Personal Belongings

Passengers may hand in their valuables at the ship’s Purser’s Office for safe-keeping, provided that their total value does no exceed 500€. The Company is not responsible for the loss of money or valuables left in open storage spaces or in cabins. Please, report the loss of any personal item to the Reception Desk on board during the voyage or call the Customer Service Direct Line. Personal belongings that have been placed on passenger’s vehicles will not be accessible during the voyage since entry to the garage is prohibited after vessel’s departure.

Boarding Procedure / Entry Regulations

Due to our compliance with the security regulations of the ISPS (International Ship and Port Facility Security) code, all passengers are kindly required to proceed to the embarkation area, at least 2 hours prior to the scheduled departure time.. All passengers are required to present their boarding card and a valid passport or ID to the Vessel’s authorized personnel. The Company reserves the Company’s rights to deny embarkation to any individual who, according to the best of Company’s knowledge, does not appear to possess valid travel documents or fails to prove, beyond a doubt, his/her identity. In the event of a fine being imposed on the Company by the immigration office, the amount will be charged to the passenger who failed to provide the proper legal documents. The Company cannot be held responsible in the event that authorities prevent a passenger from continuing his/her journey. In the event of immigration officials refusing entry, the passenger will be sent back to his/her departure place at his/her own expense. We would recommend that citizens of all states contact the appropriate consulate for details. Infants and children also require official documents of identification. All persons and all items brought on board the Vessel are liable to be searched. Persons refusing to comply with this demand shall be denied access on board and will be reported to the appropriate port authorities. If a passenger boarded on the Vessel wishes to disembark prior to departure, he/she must take all their carrying luggage and/or vehicle. In the case of vehicles of all kind, please bear in mind the possibility of you being unable to remove them from the ship’s garage due to their pre-arranged parking positions. Carriage of guns, cartridges, explosive, flammable, combustible and in general hazardous materials is strictly prohibited.

Currency on board

The currency used on board is Euro. Exchange Bureaus and ATM cash points are also available. Major Credit cards are accepted.

Telecommunications & Internet

The following communication options are available on board:

  • Coin-operated telephones via satellite (onboard Superfast vessels) and card-operated telephones via satellite (onboard Anek vessel). Phone cards can be obtained at the onboard bars.
  • The use of personal cellular (mobile) phones during the entire duration of the voyage (service available only onboard Superfast vessels). There are different rates for this satellite roaming service. For any information about the rates of this service, please contact your mobile network provider.
  • Internet corner (Superfast VI, Superfast XI and Hellenic Spirit) and wireless Internet connection (WI-FI) during the entire trip.

Useful Information

Each cabin is characterized and offered as 2-bed, 3-bed or 4-bed, depending on the number of passengers that use it, and not the number of beds existing in the cabin, or the (extra) facilities it may provide. Passengers may freely use all public areas of the ships (bars, restaurants, lounges, etc). Sleeping in the lounges or corridors is prohibited. Passengers should comply with the crew’s instructions regarding the adherence to safety rules and the ship’s good operation.

Passenger Ticket Terms and Conditions

1. Booking

  • Tickets are personal, non-transferable and are issued in the passenger’s name. They are valid only for the itinerary, date and seat for which they are issued.
  • Tickets can be booked in all travel agencies cooperating with our Company, in the company’s central offices or via our website on the internet.
  • Ticket issuing on board is prohibited; to avoid any inconvenience, all passengers are requested to book their tickets and have them before departure.
  • Complying to EU Directive 98/41, for safety reasons, a name list of the passengers is mandatory for all itineraries; name of passenger, gender (male, female), age range (adult, child, infant), Type and Plate number of the vehicle, if there is one, are mandatory to be registered on the ticket.
  • We strongly suggest our passengers to notify the travel agency on their phone number (preferably a mobile one) upon the issue of their ticket; they will be notified in case of change on scheduled itineraries e.g. detention of ship due to adverse weather conditions, etc.
  • You are kindly requested to notify the travel agency upon the issuing of your ticket on any passengers than need special care.
  • For children up to 4 years old issuing of a zero fare ticket is mandatory.

2. Embarkation

  • Complying with P.D 3 709/2008 of the Greek state, passengers should be on the embarkation area 30 minutes, or 1 hour if they travel with a vehicle, before departure.

3. Ticket issue due date

  • Tickets should be issued before due date as specified by your travel agent when booking you ticket. In any other case, your reservation will be cancelled automatically.

4. Open date tickets

  • Open date tickets are valid for one year from the issuing date. Open date tickets are not valid for embarkation unless replaced by new tickets with the date of departure.

5. Cancellations and refund

  • Tickets can be cancelled only in the travel agencies where they were issued, providing the original tickets. No ticket cancellation can be made by phone.
    Terms of cancellation according to cancellation time
  • Up to 6 days before departure: 100% refund or change to open date ticket.
  • From 6 days up to 12 hours before departure: 50% refund or change to open date ticket.
  • From 12 hours before departure to upon departure time: 50% cancellation fee.
  • From 27/04/13-08/05/13, 20/06/13-26/06/13 and from 01/08/13-31/08/13, tickets are refunded without cancellation fee or they change to open date tickets 14 days before departure. 14 days to 6 days before departure there is a 25% cancellation fee. 6 days before departure, the same term applies as on the paragraph above.
  • Open date tickets:ΤOpen date tickets are refunded without cancellation fee only if issued originally as open date tickets. If they have been converted to open date ticket, there is a 50% cancellation fee.

6. Delay or cancellation of an itinerary due to force majeure (e.g. adverse weather conditions)

  • Delay of departure: Passengers and vehicles can embark with the same tickets.
  • Cancellation of itinerary: in case of cancellation, tickets are no longer valid and should be replaced with new for the next scheduled departure with available seats.
  • Important: Passengers are kindly requested to contact the company’s offices in case of delay due to adverse weather conditions in order to stay updated on the new time of departure.

7. Ticket Loss

  • In the event of ticket loss, passengers need to purchase a new ticket in order to travel and then notify in writing the company providing lost ticket’s data (date of departure, itinerary, no. of ticket), no. of new ticket purchased and a copy of that ticket. If the lost ticket is not found by the revenue department of the company to be changed to open date ticket or utilized within 3 months, it will be replaced by a ticket of the same type for the same itinerary. Lost ticket’s data can be found at the issuing agency and should be sent by fax to the company’s central offices.

8. Timetables

  • The Company makes all effort to ensure that timetables are kept but reserves the right to make changes without prior notice if necessary.

10. Control on board

  • Check-in of tickets upon embarkation and during the trip is conducted by the ship’s inspecting officers. During check-in, passengers are responsible for displaying their tickets and other documentation that justifies a ticket with discount, if that is the case.

11. Luggage

  • Luggage should be placed on special locations of the ship, complying with the crew’s indications. Valuables should not be left in luggage. Valuables should be handed to the Purser’s office for safekeeping.

12. Passengers with special needs

  • Specially designed cabins and other facilities are available to passengers with special needs. Due to limited availability it is advisable to book early.

13. Pets

  • Pets travel in specially designated cabins and kennels. As the number of cabins is limited, you are kindly requested to reserve ahead.
    For health reasons, pets are not allowed in indoor public areas or cabins others than those designated for them. Dogs should always be on a leash and wear a muzzle when circulating on the ship.
    Passengers travelling with their pets are required to have their pet’s valid health documents with them and are responsible for their pet’s health, safety and hygiene.
    Unattended pets are not accepted on board.

14. Lost and found

  • Please notify the ship’s Reception on any item lost or found as early as possible and prior to disembarkation. For any information after disembarkation, please contact the Company’s central offices.

15. Safety

  • For safety reasons, all passengers and their belongings are liable to control. In case of non- compliance, the passenger will not be allowed to embark and the port authorities will be notified on the event.
    Passengers are expected to present their ticket, passport or other identification documents to the ship’s authorized personnel. The Company reserves the right not to allow embarkation to passengers that fail to present their travel and identification documents.
    After embarkation, disembarkation is only allowed under permission of the ship’s authorized personnel.
    In case a passenger wishes to disembark, they need to remove their luggage and/or vehicle.
    Passengers who curry a weapon have to declare it upon embarkation.

 

 

Cancellations

ADRIATIC LINES

From the date of the ticket issue and up to 30 days before the scheduled departure, the fare of the ticket is fully refundable.

From 29 days up to 7 days before the scheduled departure: 75% refund.

From 6 days up to 24 hours before the scheduled departure: 50% refund.

On the day of the scheduled departure: the fare is not refunded.

Tickets can be refunded only by the issuing agency.

Reservations

The ticket is valid for one year from the issuing date and only for the port of departure mentioned therein.

The ticket is strictly personal. It is not transferable and is valid only for the specific accommodation and route it has been issued for. Any change must be reported to the issuing agent, the central reservation offices or the port offices.

Passengers with "open date" tickets should confirm their reservations well in advance especially during high season. Such tickets are valid for one year after the scheduled departure date if it is written on the tickets. If no scheduled departure date is mentioned, then they are valid for one year after the issuing date. Any difference in price is paid by the passenger and the ticket should be validated by the issuing agency, the central reservation office or the port office.

Fares - Discounts

The tariffs for domestic and international routes include sea passage in selected accommodation arrangements and all port expenses. Meals and beverages are not included.

The 30% return trip discount is offered exclusively for the return fare of international routes when a round trip fare is booked and is valid for any port of return. All other discounts are not cumulative and only one of them is granted at a time, when applicable conditions are met.

Passengers entitled to discounted fares are kindly requested to state it at the time of booking. Once the ticket is issued, no refunds are allowed for price differences.

Groups, trucks, buses and unescorted vehicles are subject to special agreements.

Cabins

Cabins are characterized as 2,3 or 4 -berth depending on the number of passengers occupying it, not on the number of beds.

 

Ticket Loss

In the event of ticket loss, the passenger must notify the issuing agent or the company in writing. The ticket will be replaced by a new one without extra charge, unless there is a difference in price or the passenger asks for change of category.

Limited liability

In case of trip cancellation, passengers are entitled to a full refund while the company has no further obligation.

The company reserves the right to substitute the vessel for which the ticket was issued after approval from the Ministry of Merchant Marine.

Timetables, tariffs and travel conditions are subject to changes without prior notice. Arrival times quoted in timetables indicate the ship's arrival at the port's entrance (pilot station).

Minoan Lines is not liable for any delay or cancellation resulting from deviation or from not keeping the scheduled route due to bad weather conditions, or orders by the Ministry of Merchant Marine or the Port Authorities or due to force majeure.

Children

Children under the age of 4 travel free of charge and are not entitled to a berth or seat. However, a free ticket must be issued for embarkation. A 50% discount is offered to children from 4 to 12 years of age.

Boarding Instructions

Passengers must report at the port offices for check in at least one hour before departure for the passengers, and 2 hours for the vehicles, otherwise, the company reserves the right to dispose of the reserved accommodation without any refund to the passenger.

For vehicles, boarding time and priority list is subject to local port authority regulations at the port of departure. Vehicle operators are responsible for their vehicle's embarkation according to the ship's crew instructions.

Vehicle passengers should exit the vehicle before embarkation. Vehicle category is shown on the ticket.

Safety on board

Neither the carrier nor the ship are liable for any accident, loss or damage occurring prior to boarding, during loading and after disembarkation.

It is strictly forbidden for passengers to carry firearms, explosives, flammables, combustibles and other dangerous substances or materials on board.

Special needs Passengers

There are specially designed cabins on all our vessels and all common areas are easily accessible. Due to limited availability it is advisable to book early.

Luggage

Luggage may be left inside vehicles. Passengers are kindly requested to take their personal belongings that might be used during the voyage.

Access to the ship's garage during the voyage is prohibited.

The company shall not be held liable in case of loss of money or valuables stored in cars, luggage, common areas or cabins. Passengers are welcome to check cash and valuables with the Purser's office for safekeeping.

Common areas

Use of public areas of the ship is free for all passengers. It is prohibited however, to sleep or eat in the lounges and bars.

Camping on Board

Camping on board service is available from 1st of April until 31st of October.

Camping on board passengers are welcome to use all public areas of the ship. The supply of electricity for caravans and trailers and the use of WC and showers is free of charge. Camping on board is a service subject to local port authorities’ rules and regulations.

For safety reasons, passengers with Camping on Board arrangements are not allowed to use propane or any other cooking or heating gas during the entire stay on board.

Credit cards

The following credit cards are accepted in the shops and the a la carte restaurants on board: American Express / DINERS / VISA/ MASTERCARD/ EURO CARD.

EURO is the official currency on board.

Pets

Pets travel free of charge in specially designated kennels on the ship's deck. Pets are not allowed in indoor public areas or cabins. Pet owners are responsible for feeding and pet hygiene. Pet owners are required to have their pet's valid health papers with them.

General Info

According to the S.O.LAS. regulation, the P.D. 23/99 of the Greek state and the European Union Communal Instruction 98/41 , it is now mandatory, for reasons of safety, to state the following information when making your reservation: Surname, Name (Initial), gender, age category (child / adult / infant), type of vehicle and plate number. Passengers who are not residents or nationals of an E.U. member state are also required to provide additional information such as: Nationality, Passport number and date of birth. Passengers requiring special care must notify their travel agent or the company's main reservation offices.

Passengers are responsible for complying with all Port, Health and customs regulations.

Passengers ought to comply with the ship's captain and crew instructions regarding public order and safety on board.

This contract of carriage is governed by Greek Law. Any claim arising from, or on the occasion of this contract is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of Piraeus, irrespective of its legal basis. Carriage, whether domestic or international, is subject to the provisions and financial limits of responsibility of: a) The Athens Convention of 13.12.1974 and its protocol of 19.11.1976 (Law 1922/1991) and b) the Brussels Convention of 25.8.1924 and its protocols of 23.2.1968 & 21.12.1979 (Law 2107/1992) to the extend that the above provisions apply to the carriage of passengers, their luggage and vehicles, as the said provisions are in force in Greece.
